IT’S MAY!

It’s May! This month is full of holidays and celebrations. Some schools let out at the end of the month. There are graduations everywhere from preschool to college.

We start off with Cinco de Mayo on the first Sunday; the second Sunday is Mother’s Day; and the last Monday is Memorial Day.

Pools will be opening and summer will be here before we know it.  Time to make sure your library cards are renewed and get ready for some summer reading. When it is too hot outside, or the weather is stormy, those are great reading days.

Really, any day is a great reading day. And with a library card, your options are many. It is a great time to try new authors and dabble in some different genres. It is also a great time to seek out the nonfiction interests that you there wasn’t time for in school; arts and crafts, biographies, science and history.

  1. Check library card for renewal (or apply for one at the nearest library)

  2. Pay for and Pick up Pool Pass

  3. Purchase Sunscreen

  4. Make new bookmarks

  5. Scrounge for a notebook to keep books and subjects to check out. (Those empty pages at the end of school notebooks are great way to use them up.)

  6. Check flashlight for batteries for late night under the cover after bedtime reading.
